Karinauskaite Stamps her Ticket to the Steeplechase Finals

AUSTIN--- In the inaugural Outdoor Track and Field National Championships for California Baptist University, Greta Karinauskaite showcased her prowess with another top-tier time to send her to the steeplechase finals. Her time of 9:40.87 sent her to the finals with ease and set up the opportunity for her to walk away with the program's first national championship.
Greta led the group from the jump, which held true for most of the race. Karinauskaite held the lead until the final stretch of the final straightaway, with her spot in the finals already ensured. She would finish second in the heat and claim the second-fastest time in the semifinals. Her time of 9:40.87 was the second-fastest time she has ever run, behind only her record-setting performance at the West Regionals in Sacramento a few weeks back.
Next, Yasna Petrova and Karinauskaite will run in the 5000M and 3000M steeplechase finals on Saturday, June 10th, in Mike A. Myers Stadium. The steeplechase is set to begin at 6:24 p.m. PST, and the 5K will start at 7:55 p.m. PST.
Both races will be streamed on ESPN+.
