CBU falls to Melbourne United in Game #2 of Foreign Tour

MELBOURNE--- In game two of California Baptist University's foreign tour, the Lancers were defeated by Melbourne United 87-59. The United are 6x NBL champions, featuring former Saint Mary's stars Tanner Krebs and Kyle Bowen.
The opening quarter was tight, with the Lancers and United going back and forth, with the score favoring the United 20-17. The United would end up controlling the rest of the ball game and pulling the victory.
Three Lancers finished in double-figures, led by Cal Poly transfer Brantly Stevenson. Stevenson scored 14 points on 50% shooting in under 30 minutes of action. Dominuqe Daniels Jr. and Yvan Ouedraogo were the other two players to crack double digits with 11 and ten points, respectfully.
Ouedraogo, a graduate transfer from Grand Canyon, also chipped in eight rebounds and shot 57% from the floor. Hunter Goodrick, who led the team in rebounding in the loss to Brisbane, led the Lancers on the glass again with ten. Goodrick and the Lancers once again won the second chance battle with a 14-7 advantage over Melbourne.
CBU will be in action again at 7 p.m. PT and noon in Melbourne against the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix.
