SAN BRUNO, CA--- The West Coast Conference announced year-end men's water polo awards and cited three California Baptist Lancers among the three All-WCC teams. Bodhi Bowden and Caleb Teraoka were both named to the All-WCC Second team, while Toring Stanley earned an honorable mention nod for his impressive efforts this season in the pool.
Bowden ends his final regular season as the leading goal scorer for the Lancers, netting 74 this year across his 32 games played. Defensively, Bowden amassed the second-most steals on the team this season at 30 and acquired nine field blocks to add to his impressive resume. Teraoka's appearance on the All-WCC Second Team comes as no surprise after the graduate student netted 46 goals while tallying 41 assists on the attack as the true playmaker for CBU. Teraoka dominated defensively as well and totaled 24 steals with 12 field blocks to aid the Lancers in their own final third of the pool. Rounding out the awards for CBU is Toring Stanley, an honorable mention for his exciting season for the Lancers. Stanley participated in all 32 games this season, scoring 56 goals while aiding his teammates offensively with 64 assists. The senior led his team with 32 steals on the defensive end of the pool and nailed seven field blocks to round out his regular season statistics. Stanley's 56 goals are a new season-high for the senior, while the All-WCC Honorable Mention is his first conference award during his tenor with CBU.
California Baptist ended their season in fourth in the WCC and is slated to face the five-seeded Santa Clara during the opening round of the WCC Tournament in Stockton, California, starting on Friday.
