ANAHEIM--- The California Baptist Cheer program claimed its 12th consecutive United Spirit Association Collegiate Championship over the weekend, bringing home the gold in the four-Year College All Girl Intermediate category, Fight Song and Band Chant category, and the USA Championship category.
"I am immensely proud of our athletes' performance this weekend, especially in continuing our success in the Game Day Championship," remarked Quick. "Our goal is to consistently represent Lancer Nation with excellence, offering a glimpse into the great game day environment at CBU. Both our advanced and intermediate teams executed powerful routines, positioning us strongly as we continue to prepare for the upcoming NCA Nationals in April."
The Lancers opened the weekend with a win in the Band Chant column, securing a win with a 98.2 final score. This is the third consecutive year winning a Game Day Championship for CBU and the last time the Lancers finished first in the Band Chant Division was in 2022. Olivia Quick's squad passed Centenary College, Palomar College, and the University of New Mexico on the way to the top of the Game Day category for Band Chant and finished in third in the Fight Song column.
The Group Stunt Competition also proved to be successful for the Lancers as Brileyah Ogden, Bailee Rankin, McKina Stalheim, and Reese Stalheim brought home the gold for CBU. Quick's team beat out Washington State and secured a seventh-place seed of 20 competitors for the NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Lancers also took the top spot in the Four-Year College All-Girl Intermediate category. California Baptist posted a 95.2 final-day score to beat Loyola Marymount University (87.7) and Southern Oregon (85.1). The team's largest margin of victory in Anaheim was in the Four-Year All Girl Show Cheer competition, where they were the only team to post a score in the nineties at 95.2.
California Baptist continued their winning ways into the Four-Year College All-Girl Advanced category and secured their 12th USA Championship title with a final 96.1 score. The Lancers edged out Sonoma State by four points for their fourth win of the weekend.
The Lancers will now begin preparations for the NCA National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida, April 10-13.
