RIVERSIDE--- Dominique Daniels Jr added another accolade to his superb junior season for California Baptist men's basketball by being honored on the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Team.
Daniels becomes the fourth Lancer to earn the distinction, joining Milan Acquaah (twice), Gorjok Gak, and Ty Rowell. Daniels earned the second team nod in the 6th district, which included players from the Big Sky Conference and the Western Athletic Conference. Daniels was joined on the Second Team by fellow WAC players Gabe McGlothan and Ray Harrison from Grand Canyon and Alex Schumacher from Seattle U. In addition to the All-District nod, Daniels was rewarded with a Second-Team All-WAC honor despite missing the final 12 games of the season due to injury.
Daniels led the WAC in scoring in his first year as a Lancer after transferring in from San Bernardino Valley College. Daniels averaged over 19 points per game, setting the DI program record for the best point-per-game average in a single season. Daniels scored a season-high 39 points in a win over Southern Utah, setting the DI program record for points scored in a single game, which also serves as the building record for the Fowler Events Center.
Daniels had three 30+ point performances this season and scored over 20 points in nine games before suffering a season-ending injury in early February. Daniels was a force from the perimeter as well in his first season in the blue and gold, connecting on 57 triples in 21 games of action. Daniels knocked down at least five triples in six different games in his junior season and connected on 36% of his attempts.
