Del Valle Closes Out NCAA Championships on Platform

INDIANAPOLIS - California Baptist University's 2024 swim and dive season came to a close on Saturday morning with the final day of competition at the NCAA National Championships.

Mario Del Valle represented CBU in the final dive event of the season, the National Championship platform. Del Valle had a strong showing in the event but just missed placing, posting a score of 329.25 to take 22nd place overall.

Del Valle was slated to have teammate Gael Jimenez competing with him in the finale. However, Jimenez aggravated a previous injury during Friday's 3-meter event, forcing him to sit this one out. The pair are both underclassmen who gained invaluable experience during the Indianapolis weekend and will surely return better next year with this new perspective.
