RIVERSIDE--- The 2025 STUNT The Sport season is set to commence on Saturday evening for the reigning four-time national champions California Baptist. Head Coach Brandon Seagondollar will set off on his most challenging season yet with a 32-player roster, aiming to earn their fifth national championship and maintain their perfect program record, which currently sits at 80-0.
Among the 32 women representing CBU, Seagondollar boasts eight returning seniors who will bring maturity and experience to mat this season, and the squad also welcomes 14 new faces to the team. Bailee Henry makes her final return to the mat and is expected to lead the Lancers this year as a main base and lead tumbler after her phenomenal junior season in 2024. Henry was named to the CSCA All-American First-Team after CBU's dominant fourth season, leading her squad to another championship ring. Michaela Grim also returns for her senior season and boasts a similar resume from the 2024 season, earning a CSCA All-American First-Team nod as well.
California Baptist will begin its season on the road in Arizona as they take on a pair of club STUNT squads in Grand Canyon and Arizona State on opening day. CBU's first Division I match-ups of the season will be against UT Martin, Missouri State, and Mercyhurst on the road on March 27th in Nashville. Home games for the Lancers this season will include a double-header for their home opener against Cal Poly and Concordia University Irvine on February 18th. Seagondollar's team will return to the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Event Center from March 13th through March 15th as the squad hosts The Joust Tournament. CBU's home schedule concludes with Vanguard University on April 9th in Van Dyne Gym.
STUNT The Sport will host the 2025 National Championship at Lipscomb University and Travecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, from April 24th through the 27th. This year, all levels of STUNT will compete for championship titles at the same final site, with Division I programs kicking off the weekend. The DI National Championship game is set for Friday, April 25th, and will include two of the seven Division I squads. New additions to the DI-recognized teams this season include Mercyhurst, Northern Kentucky, and Missouri State.
