BOSTON, MA --- CollegeInsider.com announced its 'Early Season Watch List' for the 2025-26 Lou Henson Award on Thursday. Graduate guard Dominique Daniels Jr. is one 50 players on the list, making him the first CBU player to be added to the watch list since Milan Acquaah in 2019.
The Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball. The award is named in honor of the late coach Lou Henson, who won 775 games in 41 seasons as the head coach of Illinois and New Mexico State.
Henson is one of 11 coaches to lead two different programs to the NCAA Final Four.
Daniels Jr., one of 50 named to Thursday's watch list, marks the first CBU selection to the list since 2019. Acquaah, a watch list selection six years ago, was the 2019-20 WAC Player of the Year. Daniels Jr. was named the Preseason WAC Player of the Year this season.
During his Player of the Year season, Acquaah scored 18.1 PPG to pair with 5.8 APG and 4.9 RPG. He averaged 18.5 PPG in two seasons with the Lancers.
Through ten games in the 2025-26 campaign, Daniels Jr. is tied for tenth in Division I with 21.6 PPG. He is eighth in Division I with 36.2 minutes per game.
Over the last three games, Daniels Jr. is averaging 31.7 PPG. He has scored at least 30 points in all three contests and has played all 40 minutes in each game as well. The graduate guard has played all 40 minutes in five of CBU's last six outings.
The Lancers are off to a 9-3 start, and are 5-0 at home inside the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center. CBU will be back in action on Saturday when Sacramento State pays a visit to Riverside. Saturday will be the finale of CBU's non-conference schedule, as the WAC season tips off on December 29.
Tickets for Saturday night are on sale HERE.
