RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University women's basketball team has announced a pair of non-conference games for the 2025-26 season, including a home showdown against crosstown rival UC Riverside and a road trip to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers.
The renewal of the Crosstown Showdown is scheduled to take place on opening night for the Lancers on Monday, November 3, and will be the first time the two Riverside institutions have competed against one another since 2021 and the first time they will host the matchup since 2020. CBU will look to keep up its recent winning ways against the Highlanders, as they have won three of the four DI-era games against their crosstown rival.
The final game on the announcement will be a road date with the University of Nebraska in Lincoln to close out their non-conference slate on Sunday, December 21. It will be the first time the Lancers have faced the BIG 10 powerhouse in program history, and the second consecutive season they have faced a BIG 10 opponent after facing Oregon on opening night last year. The Cornhuskers finished 21-12 a season ago and would make the March Madness Tournament, where they ultimately fell in their opening round matchup to Louisville.
The full non-conference schedule will be released soon. Follow the Lancers on social media @CBUWBB to get all the latest news and updates.
