CBU Women's Basketball Rolls Out Non-Conference Schedule for 2025-26

7/24/2025 12:30:00 PM

RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University women's basketball team completed its full schedule on Thursday afternoon after revealing its non-conference slate for the 2025-26 season.

The Lancers will have a very prominent California theme to their non-conference schedule, with 11 of their 13 games coming against opponents from the Golden State. CBU will also host seven matchups in the Fowler Events Center and will hit the road for the other six to complete its 13-game calendar.

The season will kick off for the Lancers against its crosstown rivals, the UCR Highlanders, on November 3 in the friendly confines of the Fowler Events Center for a 5 PM tipoff. This will be the first time the two Riverside-based programs have crossed paths since 2021 and the first time the Lancers have hosted the series since 2020. The Lancers will then kick off their road schedule with a trip to Northern California to take on the Tigers of Pacific on November 8, followed by a mini road trip to Long Beach to take on a future conference foe in Long Beach State.

CBU will play host to a multi-team event in late November as they host UC Santa Barbara, Sacramento State, and Chattanooga for the CBU Classic, with a guaranteed matchup against UCSB scheduled for November 28. The Lancers will then play either the Hornets or the Mocs on November 29, depending on the outcome of the opening games. The Lancers will play their first out-of-state game on December 6 as they take on the Boise State Broncos at ExtraMile Arena. The Broncos were 13-3 at home a season ago, and it will be the first time the two teams will compete against one another in program history.

The backstretch of the schedule will feature a pair of home games in late December against another future BIG West opponent in UC San Diego and a first-time matchup with the University of Denver before closing with a premier contest against BIG 10 powerhouse Nebraska in Lincoln on December 21. This will mark the first time the Lancers have faced the Cornhuskers in program history and the second consecutive season they have scheduled a BIG 10 opponent after facing Oregon in the season opener last year. The Cornhuskers finished 21-12 a season ago and would make the March Madness Tournament, where they ultimately fell in their opening round matchup to Louisville.
