RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University men's basketball team finalized its 2025-26 schedule on Friday afternoon with the unveiling of its complete non-conference schedule.
The schedule features several prominent names, including multiple Power-5 programs and a solid mix of local rivalries for a total of 13 games. The Lancers will have six home games, five true road games, and two neutral-site matchups to complete their 13-game slate.
The season opener for CBU is scheduled for November 3 against the University of South Carolina Upstate, with tip-off set for 7:30 PM in the Fowler Events Center in Riverside. The USC Upstate Spartans hail from the Big South, and it will be the first matchup between the Lancers and the Big South in program history. CBU will hit the road for the time just a few days later with a game against a future conference rival in UC Irvine on November 7. The Anteaters were the runner-ups in the NIT a season ago and won a program-record 32 games in 2024-25. Following that, CBU will begin a three-game homestand beginning with another first-time matchup as they host Western Illinois on November 14, followed by the infamous Crosstown Showdown with UCR, and concluded with a competition against Grambling State.
Â
The Lancers will then return to the Acrisure Arena on November 25 as they compete again in the Acrisure Invitational with a solo contest against the University of San Diego. That game will jump-start nearly a month on the road for the Lancers as they jet off on a high-profile road trip beginning with a trip to Corvallis to take on Oregon State on November 29. From there, the Lancers will visit the Buffaloes of Colorado on December 1, the BYU Cougars at the Delta Center on December 3, and the University of Utah on December 6. This stretch of game features two 20+ win teams, one NCAA Tournament squad, and all four qualified for postseason action in 2024-25. The final game of the long road stretch will be against Eastern Washington on December 12.
Â
The Lancers will conclude their non-conference calendar at home with two matchups in late December, beginning with Southern University on December 16 and ending with Sacramento State on December 20.
