CBU Picked Fourth in Preseason Poll; Posada Earns Spot on All-WAC List

ARLINGTON, TX--- The annual Western Athletic Conference preseason all-conference awards and Coaches Poll were released on Friday morning, with the Lancers picked to finish fourth, and graduate right side Eliana Posada earning her spot on the all-conference list.
CBU was picked behind Utah Valley, Utah Tech, and reigning champion UT Arlington by the coaches' poll, with the Wolverines picked to finish first with five of the seven first-place votes. CBU is coming off a 7-9 conference finish that saw them win their first WAC Tournament match against Utah Tech before nearly pulling off an upset against the eventual champs, UT Arlington, in the semifinals.
Posada was the lone Lancer to earn a spot on the preseason all-conference team after finishing 2024 third on the team in kills with 219 and second on the team in blocks with 66. Posada is entering her third season with CBU after redshirting one season at Pittsburgh. The Katy, Texas native had ten double-digit kill matches last season, including having a career-high 17 kills in a home win over Southern Utah.
