
Lauren Olsen Sweeps the WAC Weekly Awards with Impressive Week

RIVERSIDE--- Lauren Olsen swept the Western Athletic Conference weekly award stand this week, earning both the WAC Player of the Week and the WAC Newcomer of the Week.
The freshman guard led the Lancers to a 3-0 start in conference play last week, winning by an average of 21 points per game. Olsen averaged 21 points per game over the three-game week while shooting over 55% from the floor and 53% from the perimeter.
The Douglas, Wyoming native scored 20+ points in all three victories, including a 23-point performance on New Year's Day against UT Arlington. Olsen's efficiency was on full display in the win over Tarleton when she shot 60% from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from deep in CBU's 80-68 victory over the Texans. Olsen has six games this season of 20+ points and has led the Lancers in scoring in eight games this season.
Olsen currently ranks in the top five in the conference in scoring, averaging nearly 15 points per contest, and is second in the WAC in field goal percentage at 48%.
Olsen and the Lancers are back in action this Thursday as they travel to St. George, Utah, to take on the Utah Tech Trailblazers.
