CEDAR CITY, UT --- Seven games remain before the start of the 2026 WAC Tournament in Las Vegas, and CBU is about to begin a three-game road trip in Utah. Beginning with Southern Utah on Thursday, the Lancers will play three pivotal conference games over the next ten days as positioning for the postseason continues to be at the forefront.
The Lancers enter the week winners of eight in a row thanks to Saturday night's 65-63 win over Abilene Christian. CBU's eight game win streak is tied for the seventh longest in all of Division I.
CBU is also 12-0 at home and are winners of 16 straight in the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center, dating back to last season. The Lancers own the ninth longest home win streak in Division I, and second longest in California behind only Saint Mary's.
This week the Lancers are off to Utah, beginning the first of three straight in the Beehive State with a visit to Cedar City and Southern Utah. The Lancers topped SUU earlier this season, 58-55, in a nailbiter inside the Fowler Events Center.
Dominique Daniels Jr. led the Lancers with 20 points in the earlier win against the Thunderbirds, followed by Jayden Jackson with 13. Daniels Jr. enters the week chasing a major milestone as he needs just 76 more points to reach 3,000 for his collegiate career. He is also one point away from reaching 500 for the second season in a row.
Southern Utah enters the week 4-7 in WAC play. The Lancers will also see SUU to end the season on March 7, with that taking place in Cedar City as well.
After their visit to Cedar City, the Lancers will travel to St. George for a weekend visit with Utah Tech. This will be the third meeting between the Lancers and Trailblazers this season, with the previous two both taking place in Riverside.
The Lancers are 2-0 against the Trailblazers this season, winning both games by a margin of 8.5 points. The Trailblazers are looking to add their name to the top of the WAC as they sit at 7-4 in conference play, while CBU and Utah Valley lead the conference at 8-3.
Daniels Jr. is averaging 23 PPG against Utah Tech this season, including a 26-point showing in their last meeting on January 21. Martel Williams is averaging 15 PPG in this season series, with his best showing being a 17-point outing on January 8. Devon Malcolm scored a career-high 20 points against the Trailblazers in that January 8 meeting.
After this weekend in Utah, CBU will return to Riverside for a week of practice before returning to the Beehive State for the third and final regular season meeting with Utah Valley. CBU is 1-1 against the Wolverines, with both teams claiming a win on their respective home floors.
Games this weekend will be streamed live on ESPN+.
