Lauren Olsen Collects Third WAC Newcomer of the Week Honor After Solid Showing in Texas Road Trip

RIVERSIDE--- True Freshman Lauren Olsen continues her incredible 2025-26 campaign with a third WAC Newcomer of the Week award following a pair of solid road performances in Texas.
The Douglas, Wyoming native has been elite for the Lancers this season, leading the team in scoring and threes made in her first collegiate season. Olsen is also second in the Western Athletic Conference in scoring in conference games at 17.3 points per game and has scored 20+ points on seven different occasions this season.
This week, Olsen averaged 16.5 points per game in a critical 2-0 road week for the Lancers. In the win over UTA, Olsen scored 17 points on seven made field goals to pair with five rebounds before following that up with 16 points on 75% three-point shooting in a wire-to-wire win over the Tarleton State Texans on Saturday afternoon. The wins helped the Lancers control their own destiny for the final week, needing just one win to clinch at least a share of the WAC Regular Season Championship.
Olsen and the Lancers will begin their quest for the Regular Season Title this Thursday in Abilene, Texas, to face the ACU Wildcats in a critical conference showdown.
