NEW ORLEANS, LA --- Dominique Daniels Jr., the all-time leading scorer in CBU's Division I era, has signed a deal to play for the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2026 NBA Summer League. Daniels Jr. was the 2026 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Year and helped guide the Lancers to their first March Madness appearance.

The next night, in the WAC Championship Game against Utah Valley, Daniels Jr. hit three consecutive 3-pointers in the closing two minutes to pull CBU to victory.
With that conference tournament win, the Lancers punched their ticket to March Madness for the first time. CBU drew an opening round meeting with the University of Kansas. Daniels Jr. dropped 25 points inside San Diego's Viejas Arena, 20 of which came in the second half as the Lancers pulled within four points after trailing by as many as 26.
Daniels Jr. ended his final season with the Lancers as the fifth leading scorer in Division I. He was selected to compete in the Reese's College All-Star Game in Indianapolis, where he finished with 13 points. Daniels Jr. ended his career as CBU's Division I era leading scorer, finishing with 1,737 points (20.9 PPG) in 83 games.
In three seasons with the Lancers, Daniels Jr. was a two-time First-Team All-WAC selection. He was a Second-Team All-WAC honoree in the 2023-24 season, his first in Riverside.
New Orleans placed third in the Southwest Division last season with a 26-56 record. They were led offensively by Trey Murphy III (21.5 PPG) and former top pick in the NBA Draft, Zion Williamson (21.0 PPG).
