2018-19
Won first place on the 200 medley relay on three occasions (Malibu Invite, vs. Pomona Pitzer, at Cal State Bakersfield) and won the 100 back against Pomona-Pizer ... competed at the WAC Championships in the 200 medley relay, 100 back, and the 200 back.
2017-18
Named to CSCAA and RMAC All-Academic honorable mention... Notched All-RMAC honors by taking second in the 200-medley relay (1:44.41)... Placed fifth in the 100 (56.33) and 200 backstrokes (2:03.57) and 13th in the 200 IM (2:10.69) at the RMAC Championships... Won the 400-medley relay (4:01.27) against Pomona-Pitzer... Swept the 100 (59.57) and 200 backs (2:09.15) at the Malibu Invite.
2016-17
Earned an All-America award by taking fifth in 400-medley relay (3:44.28) at NCAA Division II Championships... Posted three top-four times in CBU history in 100 backstroke (56.54, third); 100 individual medley (1:01.17, fourth) and 200 back (2:03.23)... Finished 20th in 200-medley relay (1:44.70) at D-II Championships... Won RMAC Championship in 200-medley relay (1:43.63) and took second in 400-medley relay (3:45.13), fourth in 100 back (56.64) and fifth in 200 back (2:04.43) in conference... Picked All-Academic awards from RMAC and CSCAA.
2015-16
Swam on two All-American honorable mention relay teams at NCAA Division II Championships, taking ninth in 400 medley (3:47.29) and 14th in 200 medley (1:44.41)... Won RMAC championships in the 200 and 400-medley relays... Finished third in 100 back and fifth in 200-back at conference finals... Her personal bests in the 100 (56.89) and 200 backstrokes (2:04.29) rank third and fourth, respectively, on CBU's all-time record list.
HIGH SCHOOL
Competed two seasons at IES Piramide in Huesca, Spain, and then spent last two seasons at Santa Margarita Catholic High in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., where she graduated in 2015... Helped Eagles Trinity League and CIF Southern Section Divisional championships back-to-back (2013-14 and 2014-15)... Named Outstanding Junior and Senior of the Year... Received Scholar Athlete Award in 2015 for maintaining a grade point average above 4.0... Was a national medalist in Spain as a 13-year old.
PERSONAL
Born to Rafael Laliena and Mireya Rubio in Huesca, Spain... Has two younger siblings, Marcos and Marta... Both parents swam club in Spain and also compete in triathlons... Lists Romans 8:28 as her favorite Bible verse... Enjoys singing, going to the beach and traveling... Psychology major... Would like to work at a clinic or in athletics after graduation.
