At least one Lancer has been selected in the MLB Draft in 13 of the last 14 years, with a program-high four coming in 2016 and 2011. Tyson Miller is the highest drafted player in CBU history, selected in the fourth round with the 134th pick overall by the Chicago Cubs.

Two CBU Baseball players have reached the top level of Major League Baseball over the last five years. Trevor Oaks became the first Lancer to appear in an MLB game when he started on the mound for the Kansas City Royals against the Chicago White Sox on April 28, 2018. Oaks would make four appearances and two starts for the Royals that season.

Tyson Miller became the second CBU Baseball player to appear in an MLB game when he started for the Chicago Cubs against the St. Louis Cardinals on August 17, 2020. He went on to appear in two games that season, and is currently a member of the Texas Rangers organization at the Triple-A level after making two appearances for the Rangers in 2022.
