Abby Stanley joined the coaching staff at California Baptist University in April 2019 after previously working as an Operations Assistant for the Men’s and Women’s Track and Cross Country programs at the University of Arkansas and as a volunteer coach/graduate assistant for Liberty University.
CBU has won four Western Athletic Conference cross country team titles with Stanley. Individually, the Lancers have produced 12 WAC champions (nine track, three cross country) and 81 all-conference finishers (57 track, 24 cross country) in cross country and track combined in Stanley's tenure.
The Lancers' women cross country team recorded the first perfect score in WAC history in 2019, while the men went on to win the conference with a perfect score in 2021. CBU has also produced four WAC Cross Country Runners of the Year and four Freshmen of the Year in three cross country seasons. Both teams have received votes in the NCAA Division I rankings, as well, over the last four years.
While at the University of Arkansas, Stanley helped with the day-to-day operations of both programs and helped coordinate home meets and recruiting efforts for the Razorbacks. The Lady Razorbacks won the 2019 Indoor Track & Field National Championship, as well as the SEC Cross Country and Indoor Track titles.
Stanley also spent three years at Liberty University in both volunteer coach and graduate assistant roles. As a volunteer coach during the 2016-17 cross country and track seasons, she helped with coaching both distance squads. The Flames Cross Country team finished ninth at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships, their highest placement since 2012 and the Lady Flames captured their first Big South title since 2012. As a graduate assistant during the 2017-18 season, Stanley helped the program host both the Big South Cross Country and Indoor Championships at Liberty University, as well as assisting the distance program with recruiting.
Abby has a degree in Journalism and Communication from Bob Jones University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Liberty University.
