Jim Bossert rejoined the Lancers as head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs ahead of the 2024 season. Bossert’s debut season was one to remember as he was named the WAC Coach of the Year.
Bossert is a CBU grad, earning his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science in May of 2016.
During his time away from the Lancers, Bossert gained Division I coaching experience, starting with a season in Tuscaloosa with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Following his time in the SEC, Bossert began his return west with a stint at the University of Wyoming.
With Wyoming, Bossert coached the spring group. In 2021, the men’s team finished in the top three at the WAC Championships, while the women’s team placed top four at the Mountain West Conference Championship. The season before, Bossert guided the women’s team to a top three Mountain West finish, and he also coached a male athlete that broke the 20 second barrier in the 50 yard freestyle.
Wyoming won its first conference championship in 59 years during Bossert’s first season.
After Wyoming, Bossert returned to California to be an assistant coach for the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Bossert swam collegiately at NCAA Division III Grove City College in Grove City, PA, before joining the Lancers as a graduate student in 2015. He earned his Bachelor’s Degre in Accounting from Grove City College in May 2025.
