2022-23
Swam as a backstroker clocking times in the 50 back (23.10), 100 back (49.55) and 200 back (1:48.43) as season bests.
2019-20
Clocked top-seven times for CBU on the season in the 100 (49.63), 200-yard backstrokes (1:50.11), 200 (1:55.01) and 400 IMs (4:05.25)... Logged three top-three finishes in duals against Incarnate Word (100 back, 55.11), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (300 back, 3:02.32) and UC San Diego (200 back, 1:52.23)... Took eighth in the 200 back (1:55.08) at the UNLV Invite... Named WAC All-Academic.
HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Thunder Ridge High in Highlands Ranch, Colo., where he graduated in 2019... Totalled 10 top-16 finishes at the Colorado State Championships... Placed seventh in the 100 back (51.08) and 13th in the 200 individual medley (1:56.08) at the 2019 CHSAA 5A State Championship... Finished sixth in the 100 back (51.03) at the 2018 CHSAA 5A State Championship... Swam club with Highlands Ranch Aquatics.

Born in Englewood but raised in Highlands Ranch, Colo... Son of Heidi and Phil Van Law... Has three siblings: Patricia, Shannon and Heather... Sister, Patricia, swam at the University of Minnesota... Enjoys Spikeball, beach volleyball, ultimate frisbee, mountain and road biking... Pre-mechanical engineering major... Plans to pursue a Masters in engineering after graduation... John 15:13 is his favorite Bible verse.
