CBU Athletics

California Baptist University announced Michele Vasquez as an athletic trainer in 1993. Vasquez oversees all athletic training responsibilities for men’s soccer, women's water polo and cheer. She also acts as the Lancers’ athletic insurance liaison.

During her time at CBU, she has also served as an associate professor of kinesiology and now serves as a preceptor for the CBU Athletic Training program. In 2000, Vasquez was named a Who’s Who Among American Teachers.

Prior to coming to CBU, Vasquez spent two years (1991-93) as an assistant athletic trainer at Widener University in Chester, Pa. She also served as a physical education instructor. From 1989-1991 she was the head athletic trainer at Central Bucks West High in Doyelstown, Pa.

Vasquez completed her bachelor’s in physical education at Long Beach State in 1988 and then earned her master’s in education with an emphasis in sports medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1993.

After graduating with her undergrad, Vasquez was the athletic trainer at Newport Harbor High School from 1988-1989.

Vasquez has two daughters, Elena and Olivia, and resides in Riverside.
