RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- California Baptist baseball hosted its fifth annual “Scout Day” Monday afternoon, working out for a handful of major league scouts.
Twenty-three draft eligible athletes worked out for the scouts, taking batting practice, running the 60, taking infield/outfield and playing a simulated game where each pitcher faced three to four hitters. About 15 scouts were in attendance.
“This gives us an opportunity to showcase some of our players for the upcoming season while at the same time saying thank you to the scouts who cover our area,” said CBU head coach Gary Adcock, who treats the scouts to a nice spread of snacks during the event.
Nine former Lancers have benefited from participating in this event throughout the past four seasons and have gone on to play professionally.
