VALLEJO, Calif. — California Baptist University stepped outside of the early Golden State Athletic Conference schedule to take on Cal Maritime, a team that the Lancers had routed 89-59 in the third game of the season. Friday night's game with the Keelhaulers was not much different as CBU again pulled off a 30-point win with a 96-66 victory.
Heather Couzens led all scorers with 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor and she grabbed six rebounds. Megan Bradford added 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Brenna Hahn also sank a pair of treys to notch her season high with 13 points.
Monique Calvello grabbed a team-high 10 boards and scored six points while Elisha Taylor added nine points and four rebounds.
The Lancers (5-3) shot 40.7 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range. CBU was also 9-for-14 from the free throw line (75 percent). The CBU defense forced 27 turnovers scoring 16 points off of those turnovers. The Lancers' bench also outscored Cal Martitme's bench 52-25.
CBU will now take on Holy Names, Saturday afternoon, at 4 p.m. in Oakland, Calif.
