KANSAS CITY, Kansas --- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its latest women's soccer regional rankings Tuesday, and for the seventh-straight week California Baptist University finds itself in the Top 10.
For the second straight week, the Lancers are a season-best No. 4 in the NCAA Division II West Regional Rankings. They have been ranked in every weekly poll since Sept. 13.
CBU is coming off three straight wins in Hawaii last week, including a 2-0 win over west region No. 8 and PacWest rival BYU-Hawaii. That win put the Lancers in the driver's seat for the PacWest title with three games to go. They need a win tomorrow over Grand Canyon to clinch a tie.
The Lancers (12-1-1, 8-0-1) currently lead the conference with 25 points, three points ahead of Grand Canyon. They have won seven straight and have an unbeaten streak of 12 straight (11-0-1), dating back to their lone loss of the season Sept. 3 at Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-0).
The Lancers and 'Lopes play Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Riverside.
CBU is currently in its second year of candidacy in the NCAA Division II membership process and is not currently eligible for national championships, but can be ranked regionally.
