Carmona averaged eight kills per set for the first two games, helping California Baptist University to its second sweep in as many nights with a 3-0 win over Dominican. Carmona had 19 kills on the night and hit .421, seeing more time on the bench in the third game as her team had the match well under control.
"She dominated tonight, that's for sure," said Head Coach Ryan McGuyre of his junior opposite hitter. "I like what we did offensively again tonight. We just have to keep getting better every night. Jelena Dragovic had another great night as well."
Dragovic, who currently leads the PacWest in hitting percentage, hit .667 in the contest, with 11 kills and just one error on 15 attempts. It comes just a night after the sophomore hit .818 against Notre Dame de Namur.
CBU improved its margin of victory in each game Wednesday, winning the opener 25-19, followed by 25-17 and 25-16 wins.
Carmona opened the night with nine kills and just one error in the first set and as a team the Lancers hit .357 with 18 kills in the game.
On the night CBU trailed for just five points, all of which came early in each set, as Dominican was unable to mount any real threats to the Lancer victory.
Dominican, which falls to 1-23 overall, 1-14 in the PacWest, hit just .060, with a -.077 attack percentage in the third and final game.
The Lancers improve to 17-9, 9-5 with the win. CBU is now 2-0 on its current four match road trip and has a match against Notre Dame de Namur scheduled for Friday and then Dominican again Saturday night.
