The win comes just a day after both teams won five-set marathons last night. CBU defeated No. 13 Grand Canyon and Dixie State handed Point Loma a loss. CBU previously defeated the Red Storm 3-1 on the road.
The win moves the Lancers to 13-2 overall, 6-0 in the PacWest, while Dixie State falls to 5-8, 3-5.
In the opening set the Lancers spread out the offensive attack, getting at least three kills from four different players, led by Ingrid Carmona with five.
The second game was more of the same as CBU poured in 14 kills, while Dixie State only managed six. The Red Storm also committed six errors on the attack in the second.
The numbers in the third were almost identical, with Dixie State posting eight kills and seven errors, and CBU dropping another 14 kills. CBU jumped ahead 5-0 in the final game behind the service of Carmona.
The Lancers out-dug the Red Storm 65-53 and out-blocked them 8-6.
CBU had 11 players see action in the match, with three going over the 10-kill mark. Carmona led the way with 15, Malika O'Brien put up 11 and Kim McCalmont ripped 10. O'Brien also had a match-high five blocks. Carmona's 15 kills and 16 digs gave her her ninth double-double of the season.
Megan Glennie frustrated the Dixie State attack all night, seemingly getting to every ball that found its way past the CBU block. She finished with 20 digs.
Taylor Parker ran the attack for CBU, averaging 13 kills per set for the night to finish with 39 in the three-set match.
After playing six of their last seven on the road, the Lancers head to Hawaii for a four-match road trip and then come back to the mainland for three more road contests.
CBU has now won eight straight matches.
