The Lancers never got it going against the smothering GCU defense, trailing by double digits much of the night.
CBU went up by as much as six early in the opening half, but a 12-0 run that spanned better than six minutes late in the period put GCU up 27-17.
Lesley Vodicska finally broke the scoreless streak with a 3-pointer from the corner at the 4:18 mark to cut it back to a single digit margin.
Another 10-2 spurt gave the lopes a 37-22 advantage at the break. The Lancers were out-rebounded 25-11 in the first half.
GCU came out of the break just as hot with an 8-2 run to take a commanding 45-24 lead.
CBU finally found a run of its own late in the half, getting two big three's from Brittney Lewis as part of a 10-2 run to pull within 13, at 55-42. It was the closest the Lancers had been since the first half.
That was as far as the comeback went, though, for CBU, as the Lancers eventually fell by 13, never getting any closer than that.
CBU's 52 points was a season low for the team. The Lancers' previous season low also came against the Lopes in the team's 55-53 win on Jan. 2.
GCU out-rebounded CBU 46-25 in the game and controlled the paint with 32 points down low to just 22 for the Lancers.
Simone Holmes led CBU with 11 points and Vodicska added 10.
The home team had four players score in double figures, led by Jenna Pearson and Chigozie Ekweozor with 12 a piece.
The Lancers fall to 10-5 overall, 4-3 PacWest, while the Lopes improve to 17-4, 9-1.
