The Lancers looked better with every game, cruising to the 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19) win.
"I thought against UC San Diego we were a little too up and down, so I was happy to see the guys come out and play a more consistent match tonight," said CBU Head Coach Wes Schneider. "We didn't allow them to go on any streaks and didn't make too many mental errors, so that's an improvement"
CBU committed just 10 attacking errors in the contest, matching a season low.
Aaron McCalmont ripped back to back kills late in the opening game to help break open what was a back and forth battle for most of the first set.
McCalmont's kills gave the Lancers a 24-21 lead and the eventual win. He led CBU with five kills on six swings in the game.
Both teams opened hot with the Lancers hitting .382 and the Tigers attacking at a .333 clip in the first set.
The Lancers never trailed in the second set, sprinting to the finish with a 4-1 run behind a kill and an ace from Levi Cabral.
CBU's dominance only increased in the third game as they took a 14-8 lead midway through the set, forcing a Tiger timeout. It would be a comfortable Lancer advantage the rest of the way.
CBU was led by 12 kills from McCalmont and 10 kills apiece from Cabral and Guilherme Koepp. McCalmont hit .647 in the match, committing just one error on 17 attempts. Michael Cate posted 10 digs and Brett Anderson had 36 assists in the three-set match.
"I thought Aaron played really well tonight," said Schneider. "He's finally getting healthy and being able to play at the level he's accustomed to, and that's huge for us."
The Lancers hit .384 in the match and out-blocked Pacific 7-3.
The Tigers were led by Adam Troy with 11 kills.
The victory moves CBU to 8-9 overall, 5-7 MPSF and drops Pacific to 5-10, 3-10.
CBU travels to Utah this weekend for a pair of matches with No. 1 BYU.
"BYU is a team you can't ever take lightly, but I like where we are at," said Schneider. "I like the energy and momentum we have right now. It should be a good battle up there."
