RESULTS TEAM RESULTS
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — California Baptist University hosted the Inland Empire Invitational on Saturday, competing against Whittier College and the University of Redlands.
Mary Hanson grabbed four first-place finishes in all the events she competed in, including the women's 200- yard medley relay (1:46.21), 100-yard backstroke (56.44 seconds), 50-yard freestyle (24.80 seconds) and the 400-yard IM (4:35.84).
Yosita Hapsari grabbed two first-place finishes, including the women's 400-yard IM (4:35.84) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.01). Christie Halverson took second behind Hapsari for the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.16).
Elena Rumiantceva claimed three first-place finishes, including the women's 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.31), 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.97) and the 200-yard IM with an overall time of 2:09.26.
For the rest of the Lancers, Kyndal Terwilliger took first for the women's 500-yard freestyle (5:14.72) while Sara Yoshii led the 200-yard butterfly race with a total time of 2:12.22. Kylie Mihld also took the 200-yard backstroke and won first place with a final time of 2:08.95 and Kristina Tchernyschev finished in first for the women's 100-yard butterfly (58.15 seconds).
On the diving board, the woman started on 3-meter with a first and second place sweep. For the first round of competition, sophomore Lauren Skinner took the Gold with a 250.45 while sophomore Breanne Schlenger took second-place with a score of 244.7.
They continued the domination on the 1-meter event, this time with Schlenger taking first with 256.6 points, while Skinner finished in second with 245.55 on their 6-dive list. Schlenger's 11-dive list scores were 438.5 and Skinner followed close behind at 435.8.
"Both Skinner and Schlenger exceeded the national qualifying score," said diving coach Jeff Couto. "They are going to be a force to be reckoned with."
The Lancers will compete again on Nov. 1 at the Pomona Relays in Pomona, Calif., beginning at 10 a.m.
