RESULTS
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — California Baptist University beat out Pomona-Pitzer in its first home dual, winning 203-91 points.
Mary Hanson took four first-place finishes on the day, including the event she currently holds the NCAA Division II record for, the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 56.63. She also won the 50-yard freestyle (24.48) and 200-yard backstroke clocking in at 2:05.50 and the women's 200-yard medley (1:47.45), with the help of Alena Rumiantceva, Kristina Tchernyschev and Kyndal Terwilliger.
Junior Yosita Hapsari grabbed three first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.69), 100-yard Freestyle with a final time of 52.90 and the 400-yard IM, clocking in with a final time of 4:35.25. Kylie Mihld finished a few seconds behind Hapsari in the 200 free, finishing in 1:57.68.
Sophomore Alena Rumiantceva also won three events for the Lancers, including the 100-yard breaststroke (1.06.60) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.96). Rumiantceva teamed up with Robin Smallwood, Kristina Tchernyschev and Yosita Hapsari to take the 400- yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.82.
Kyndal Terwilliger won the 200-yard butterfly, touching first at 2:08.71. Tchernyschev also won an individual event, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 57.75 seconds.
On the diving board, Breanne Schlenger dominated both boards, winning the one-meter with a score of 231 and the three-meter with a score of 208.95 points.
The Lancers will compete again on Nov. 20 at the East LA College Arena Invite in Los Angeles, Calif.
