RESULTS
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.— California Baptist University continued its trend of facing NCAA Division I competition Saturday, as it traveled to Cal State Bakersfield's Hillman Aquatics Complex. The Lancer women scored a total of 137 points with wins in six event, including one relay. The Roadrunners scored 163 points to edge CBU.
Mary Hanson led CBU with three individual wins including sweeps in the backstroke with a time of 57.29 seconds in the 100 and 2:05.66 in the 200. Her final win came in the 50 yard-freestyle (24.47). Alena Rumiantceva posted two individual wins with her 1:06.53 recorded time in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:25.14 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Hanson and Rumiantceva teamed with Kristina Tchernyshev and Robin Smallwood helped the Lancers win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:47.30. Tchernyshev also had an individual first-place finish with her recorded time of 57.39 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly.
On the diving board, Breanne Schlenger finished the 3-meter board with 237.22 points finishing in second place, while Lauren Skinner came in fourth with 228.38 points and Kristen Farrell finished the event up with 142.72 points for the Lancers. On the 1-meter board, Schlenger, Skinner and Farrell finished 4-5-6th respectively.
