RIVERSIDE, Calif. – In one day, California Baptist University got three wins in a tri-dual meet with Fresno Pacific, Concordia and Azusa Pacific, Saturday at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
Eleven wins in 16 of the events were more than enough for the CBU to grab a clean sweep over APU (234-66), FPU (216-78) and CUI (248-45), boosting the Lancers' record all the way to 5-1.
Alena Rumiantceva won all three of her events, with two individual wins in the 100 and 200-yard breaststrokes, with respective times of one minute, 4.89 seconds and 2:22.43. Her 200-medley relay team of Andrea Laliena, Kristina Tchernyschev and Hailey Golden started the day with a win in 1:48.52.
CBU would sweep the relays, with Christie Halverson, Grace Oeser, Tessa Olson and Patricia Hapsari winning the 400-free relay with a time of 3:38.20.
Hapsari and Laliena would also win two individual events to form a terrifying trio for the Lancers on the day. Hapsari won the 50 (24.73) and 200 frees (1:53.95), while Laliena also laid claim to the 100 (58.87) and 200 backstrokes (2:10.89).
In what has become a familiar sight, Halverson won the 1000 free (10:35.87). Courtney Chacon also won the 200 butterfly (2:08.85). On the diving portion, Bre Schlenger led the Lancers to a win on the one-meter board with 238.35 points.
