RESULTS
HAYWARD, Calif. — California Baptist University kept up the tempo Friday at the 11th Annual San Francisco State Distance Carnival, as it looked to keep progressing forward toward the postseason.
In his first 3K steeplechase of the year, Pierre-Louis Detourbe crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of nine minutes, 7.22 seconds for 16th place and beat the provisional mark by almost 10 seconds. Dennis Messmer finished in 9:27.17, while Michael Callaway wasn't too far behind in 9:50.82.
Jayden Emerson finished the 10K strong in 32:34.76. Jonah Ross followed, coming in at 33:28.67. Anthony Lozano led the Lancers in the 1500-meter and finished in 17th place with a time of 3:53.86, while Mirco Zenzen clocked in at 4:07.55.
In the final race of the night, the 5K, Simon Bedard led CBU with a 14:23.92 time, which was good for 13th overall. Michael Lowrie posted a season-best time of 14:52.31.
CBU heads to Pomona, Calif., next week, hoping to keep making improvements as it gears up for a chance to compete at the NCAA Division II Championship Meet at the end of May in Charlotte, N.C.
