LOS ANGELES – Two top-10 placing, including a runner-up finish from Evan Honer, capped off the USC Trojan Diving Invitational in style for California Baptist University on Sunday.
Honer took second on the 1-meter board with a score of 565.10. Kiree Lowe provided the highlight of the week on the women's side by taking 10th on the platform with a 370.95.
"Apparently the Lancer divers saved their best for the last day of competition," Coach Jeff Couto said. "Evan turned some heads today. This young man has been diving extremely consistent for us since they start of the season."
"Kiree placed ninth in the prelims and was hanging with the best of them. I really think this will bring some confidence to her young career on platform."
CBU went up against top teams from all over the country this weekend, including USC, Cal, Utah, UNLV, CSU Bakersfield, Cal Poly and UC San Diego.
Savannah Uhlir took 14th on the platform with a 160.50 score, while Madison Liu took 16th (153.60). Zane Freeman (452.10) and Tyler Stevens (432.65) took 15th and 16th, respectively, on the 1-meter board.
The Lancers have next week off from competition. They will be back in action at the Pepperdine Winter Invite Nov. 22-24.
