Afu Leads CBU Against Cougars

VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Lancer women's basketball team took the court today against the University of Houston in the second round of the Greater Victoria Invitational. CBU opened the game with a quick three, but would ultimately drop the game 96-75.
Tiena Afu led the Lancers in scoring with 14, going 4-8 from beyond the three-point line. Sydney Palma chipped in 11 points and a team-leading six rebounds.
Houston came into the game with a 3-3 record, including a win against Oklahoma prior to making the trip to Canada.
Houston was paired against CBU after dropping their first-round contest to Syracuse 87-62 on Thursday night. The Cougars shot much better on day two, improving from 34.8% to 48.1% Friday against the Lancers.
The Lancers are set to face-off with Bowling Green on Saturday morning. The matinee will determine the seventh and eighth place finishers in the tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
