RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University's men's basketball team will kick off its six-game homestand against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m.

Saturday's contest against the Wildcats kicks off the Lancers longest homestand of the 2019-20 season. CBU will host four straight games to end the 2019 season and bring in the New Year with the first two games of conference play.
Bethune-Cookman hails from Daytona, Fla., and their trip to the CBU Events Center marks the longest of its season. The Wildcats are currently on their longest road trip of the season, as Saturday's game will be their seventh straight road game. The road trip for the Wildcats started back on Nov. 22 when they played a three-day tournament in San Antonio, Texas.
The Wildcats are currently 5-5 on the season and are led by returning starters Isaiah Bailey and Cletrell Pope.
Notables:
- The Wildcats boast a top-heavy roster with eight of their 15 players listed as seniors.
- Pope was named as the 2019-20 MEAC Preseason Player of the Year, while Malik Maitland and Bailey joined him on the Preseason All-MEAC Team.
- BCU ended the month of November on a four-game winning streak.
- The Wildcats have six players averaging 20 or more minutes per game.
- Bailey leads the team in scoring (13.5), assists (3.3), and steals (1.5), while Pope is averaging a double-double on the season (12.7ppg, 12.0rpg).
- Head Coach Ryan Ridder is in his fourth season at the helm of the program.
- The Wildcats made it to the MEAC Tournament last season, falling in the quarterfinals.
