Bedard Wins Season-Opening 3K

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Simon Bedard won the 3,000-meter race to start California Baptist University's season opener at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.
Three Lancers finished in the top five, as Timothy Legemet and Zlatko Kozuhar took third and fifth place, respectively, in their CBU debuts. Bedard won the race in eight minutes, 25.45 seconds, while Legemet and Kozuhar logged respective times of 8:27.65 and 8:32.36.
Hector Peralta (17th, 8:49.35) also finished in the top 20 for CBU, which also saw McMarshall Hartzenburg (8:55.70) and Collins Koech (8:65.18) take 24th and 25th, respectively.
CBU takes two weeks off from competition before returning to action at the Riverside City College Invite on March 3rd.
