RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University's men's basketball team cruised by San Diego Christian College on Wednesday, as the Lancers beat the Hawks, 89-37.
With the win, the Lancers improve to 6-4 on the season. This marks the 10th straight win over San Diego Christian, as the streak dates back to Jan. 22, 2008.
The Lancers were originally set to play Chicago State on the week, but CSU suspended its men's basketball activities, and as a result, those games were canceled.
California Baptist didn't disappoint in this midweek, non-conference matchup, as the Lancers opened the game on a 14-1 run in the first seven minutes.
Elijah Thomas capped off the Lancers' run with a steal and fast-break dunk on the other end.

The Lancers continued to click offensively and defensively, shooting 54.3 percent from the field while holding the Hawks to 25.8 percent from the field and 9.1 percent from the 3-point line in the first half.
CBU went into the break up 47-20, which was the fewest points allowed by the Lancers since holding Grand Canyon to 22 points on Jan. 11, 2020.
The second half had the same story as the first, as the Lancers extended their lead to 41 after Tre Armstrong hit his fourth three of the game, 66-25.
Gorjok Gak and Thomas provided the two biggest plays of the game soon after, as Gak blocked a shot off the backboard and then found Thomas on a fast break for the dunk.
