The matchup between the Lancers and the Longhorns will be the final game in the 2021 Abe Lemons Classic. CBU opened the Classic with a nail-biter against San Jose State, where freshman Taran Armstrong hit the go-ahead free throws in the final seconds to seal the 67-66 victory. CBU closed out its five-game homestand with a 74-70 win over Northern Colorado on Sunday, Nov. 21, to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Lancers are joined by Duke, Marquette, Iona, Norfolk St., and San Francisco as the only 5-0 teams in the country up to this point.Â
This marks the second time the Lancers and the Longhorns will square off on the court, as the Longhorns edged the Lancers in the first-ever matchup on Nov. 12, 2019, in a 67-54 final. It also marks the second time the Lancers will face a top-ranked team in the Division I-era after taking on No. 6/7 Nevada on Nov. 19, 2018.
