Lancers Drop Season-High 12 Aces in Sweep of La Sierra in Home Finale

RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University volleyball kept its perfect streak against La Sierra intact, with a straight-set victory over the Golden Eagles on Thursday in the Van Dyne Gym.
The Lancers have now swept La Sierra in all four matches in the series after Thursday's 25-20, 25-11, 25-15 victory. CBU improves to 6-8 on the year and the Golden Eagles drop to 3-4.
Tesa Oaks was a dominant force with 12 kills on 22 attempts and no errors for a .545 hitting percentage. Hana Okuhara set a career-high for assists with 29, along with three aces, eight digs and three kills. She had the Lancers hitting .360 as a team (38-7-86).
CBU set a season high for aces with 12 and Jennifer Blessing accounted for half of them. Those 12 aces are one off the Lancers' NCAA-era record, while Blessing's six aces are one off the team's single-match NCAA-era record individually, as well.
Calissa Hoye finished with a team-high 10 digs, six kills and an ace. Ellie Voss added seven kills, a block and an ace. Christine Graf gave CBU four players with at least six kills to go with three digs and a block.
UP NEXT
The Lancers will look to win out and finish the year with a .500 record, as they will wrap up the regular-season with two more Western Athletic Conference matches at Seattle U next week. CBU and the Redhawks will open the back-to-back on Monday at 6 p.m. and wrap it up Tuesday at 2 p.m.
