CBU Closes Out Non-Conference Play on the Road at UC Irvine

IRVINE – California Baptist University volleyball wrapped up non-conference play with a road match at UC Irvine, as part of the Big West/WAC Match-Up on Saturday at the Bren Events Center.
The Anteaters came away with the three-set win (28-26, 25-20, 25-21). The Lancers held the advantage in aces (5-2) and got a match-high 17 digs from libero Paige Johnstone. Hana Okuhara also recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 digs and 13 assists.
Christine Graf and Anna Jackson both posted a team-high eight kills, while Tesa Oaks had seven kills and four digs. Leah Pease also had 17 assists, six digs and two aces.
CBU moves to 5-5 this year, while UC Irvine has now won three-straight matches to improve to 7-3. The Lancers will open Western Athletic Conference play at home against Chicago State on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. in the Van Dyne Gym.
