RIVERSIDE – Earlier this season, freshman Gael Jimenez made history by becoming the first CBU diver to post a score of 400-plus points in a competition, hitting 404.65 at USC. However, he bested that mark today in his home pool, winning the Lancer Invite 3-meter event with a score of 417.45.
Jimenez is one of just 12 Division I divers to break to the 400-point mark this season. His score of 417.45 currently ranks as the eighth-best score in the country. Jimenez made it a clean sweep on Saturday, winning the 1-meter event with a score of 304.43.
John Angelovic continued his impressive weekend, taking second in the 3-meter event with a personal best score of 320.63. Natalia Bedolla earned top marks for the CBU women's side today in both events, winning the 3-meter event with a score of 301.13 and taking third in the 1-meter event with a 269.70.
