Lancers Compete at the Cliff Keen Invitational

LAS VEGAS--- California Baptist University Wrestling headed to Las Vegas to participate in the Cliff Keen Invitational, one of the top-rated wrestling tournaments for collegiate wrestling programs. The Invitational featured several top-25 ranked teams and three of the top five programs in the country in Arizona State, Michigan, and Ohio State.
The Lancers were mainly matched up against ranked wrestlers during the tournaments, facing seven dof the throughout the tournament. Mateo de la Pena and Peter Acciardi were both able to advance past the first round before falling in the round of 16 to top-10 wrestlers from Oregon State and Cornell.
Hunter Leake and Caden Gerlach found some success in the consolation brackets, with both of them winning a pair of matches to reach the round of eight where they ultimately lost by decisions.
Next up for the Lancers is a trip to Reno, Nevada, for the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday, December 18th.
