
Five Lancers Earn Finals Berths In AFA Diving Invite Finale

AIR FORCE ACADEMY – Paula De Moya Alvarez soared in the Saturday finale of the AFA Diving Invitational, leading the group of five California Baptist University divers who qualified for platform finals. De Moya was joined by Kiree Lowe in the women's event final while all three Lancer men earned spots in their final as well.
Platform finals took part amongst the top-12 divers from the preliminary rounds, which De Moya took ninth in behind Lowe's sixth-place finish. De Moya would improve her score round-over-round by over 35 points, earning third place overall in the platform competition with a score of 237.20. Lowe closed out the invite with a ninth-place finish and a score of 192.65.
The trio of Evan Honer (fifth), Tyler Stevens (10th) and Jacob Penman (12th) all qualified for the men's finals after a strong showing in the prelims. The finals saw that order fluctuate just a bit, as Honer finished in seventh position after earning a score of 292.25, followed by Penman who jumped up to 10th place with a 241.80, with Stevens closing the event in 12th place with a score of 238.30.

The full Lancer squad will be back together again for four days of madness at the Western Athletic Conference Championships, which is making its return to its normal host site, the University of Houston, from February 23-26.
