Jimenez Closes Out Bruin Diving Invite Strong for CBU

WESTWOOD – California Baptist University divers finished the three-day meet at UCLA with one final day of competition that put the men on the platform while the women finished off on 1-meter.
Four Lancer women challenged a field of 67 divers in their 1-meter springboard competition. Lillian Choi (181.50 points), Audrey Easter (196.30), and Madison Liu (203.55) finished the preliminary rounds in 59th, 56th, and 48th place, respectively. Freshman Natalia Bedolla nearly broke into the finals but came up two spots short in 20th with a score of 251.85.
John Angelovic and Gael Jimenez took on the platform prelims together, with Angelovic's score of 219.45 earning the freshman 21st place. Jimenez closed out the prelims in 3rd place with a score of 322.90. Jimenez represented CBU in the finals, posting a score of 341.85 to reach his total score of 664.75, to close out the competition in fifth place.
The Lancer divers have three more regular season events on the schedule, with the next challenge coming in the form of a road trip to Phoenix to compete against Grand Canyon on January 21.
