Lancers Take On Lopes, Firestorm, and Spirit In Phoenix

PHOENIX – The CBU men's and women's swim and dive teams made their annual trip to the desert on Saturday, taking part in the GCU quad-dual, facing off with GCU, Arizona Christian, and Ottawa. The Lancers trounced the two NAIA opponents but fell to the host Lopes.
The Lancer men earned seven wins on the day, beginning with the first race of the day, the 200 medley relay. Remi Fabiani secured a pair of wins in Phoenix, while Mark Kovacsics, Jonathan Reiter, and Robert Moseley earned an individual win of their own. Gael Jimenez and Evan Honer split the top spot in the diving competitions, with Jimenez taking the 3-meter event while Honer claimed the 1-meter crown.
The women earned half a dozen top finishes, with Lydia Bartlett and Natalia Bedolla each winning twice. Giulia Decataldo and Michaela Trnkova each touched first in one of their races.
Next up for CBU is a trip south to La Jolla to take on UC San Diego on Saturday, January 28.
