VB Preview: CBU Volleyball set to End Three Game Week with Seattle and Utah Valley

RIVERSIDE/SEATTLE--- The California Baptist University women's volleyball team will continue a three-match week with a road trip to Seattle on Wednesday and a home game versus Utah Valley on Saturday.
The first of the matchups will be against the Seattle U Redhawks on Wednesday evening in Seattle. The Lancers and the Redhawks have played in seven matches since 2018, with CBU holding the series lead 6-1. The Lancers have won the last three matchups in the series, including three straight sweeps. The lone Redhawk win in the matchup came in 2019.
Seattle U enters the game 6-13 and 1-7 in conference play. The Redhawks are returning home after a three-game road trip in Utah, where they were swept by Utah Valley and Utah Tech and defeated Southern Utah in five sets. The Lancers, meanwhile, are on a current five-game slide as they played the top five teams in the Western Athletic Conference in a row. CBU is 10-9 on the season and 3-5 in the WAC.
The Saturday match will be in Riverside against the Utah Valley Wolverines. The Lancers and Wolverines are neck-and-neck in the current conference standings, with Utah Valley in sixth and the Lancers in seventh. The Wolverines are 4-4 in conference play and are riding a recent three-game winning streak. Utah Valley will face Grand Canyon in Phoenix on Thursday before heading to Riverside.
Against Utah Valley, the Lancers hold a 5-4 advantage in the series, including an upset win over the Wolverines last season in Riverside. CBU is 3-3 at home in the matchup and 2-1 on the road, with their last win in Orem coming in 2019 in five sets.
