
Lancers Fly High On Day Two of Air Force Dive Invite

USAFA, CO – The Lancers took on another strong field on the second day of competition at the Air Force Dive Invite. CBU improved its finishings as three Lancers made the finals on Friday.
Natalia Bedolla was the top finisher again on the women's side, advancing to the finals of the women's 1-meter competition. Her prelim score of 256.65 earned her a seventh-place finish and a ticket to the finals. She improved her score to 265.25 in the championship round to maintain her seventh-place spot.
Madison Liu closed out the prelims in 27th place with a score of 197.95, followed by Audrey Easter in 29th (193.15) and Lillian Choi in 36th (180.45).
On the men's side, Gael Jimenez and Evan Honer made their event finals for the second day in a row. Jimenez qualified in third with a preliminary score of 380.60, while Honer got in with a 309.55 to nab 11th place in the prelims. Jimenez posted a 371.50 in the finals, however, he was edged by a diver from the University of Utah and finished in fourth. Honer turned in a finals score of 266.00 to claim 12th place.
Though they weren't able to advance, John Angelovic and Jacob Penman did well in the prelims. Angelovic posted a score of 293.60 for 19th place, while Penman settled in at 27th place with his score of 265.95.
Competition wraps on Saturday as the men and women all take on the platform event. Prelims begin at 8:00 a.m. Pacific time and the action can be viewed via the AFA Falcons YouTube Channel.
