ARLINGTON – California Baptist University men's basketball will take on the 9th-seeded Abilene Christian Wildcats in the opening game of the 2023 Hercules Tires WAC Basketball Tournament. 

The Lancers will take the court at noon on March 7 for their second game of the season against ACU. The Lancers are still looking for their first win against ACU. The teams have met only twice before, both going the way of the Wildcats. 

This is the Lancers' third appearance in the WAC Tournament as they look to duplicate and improve on last season's successful first round when they defeated UTRGV 81-80 for their first D-I postseason victory.

Should the Lancers overcome the Wildcats on Tuesday, they will meet the top-seeded Sam Houston Bearkats in the quarterfinals with another noon tip on Thursday, March 9.

All games in the first three rounds will be broadcast on ESPN+, and should CBU continue to play into Saturday's Championship contest, that game will air nationally on ESPN 2 at 8:30 p.m.
